Go Fishing is a simple and fun card game. It includes 208 cards.

The goal is to make as many pairs as possible of cards from the same category (for example, two animals, two foods, etc.).
Categories:
Basic level: animals – numbers – food – clothes – body parts – parts of the house – toys – days or months – colours – family members – school objects – places in town – professions
Intermediate level: verbs – adverbs – weather words – adjectives – school subjects – gerunds – verbs in the 2nd column – verbs in the 3rd column – film types – music styles – false friends – phrasal verbs – idioms

Game Instructions:
Shuffle the cards and deal 5 cards to each player if there are 4 or more players.
If there are 3 or fewer players, deal 7 cards to each.
Place the remaining cards face down in the center of the table; this is the “pond” where players will fish cards from.

Asking for cards:
The first player (the one to the left of the dealer) asks any other player if they have a card from a specific category. For example, they can say:
“Do you have an animal?”
To do this, the player must have at least one card from that category in their hand.

Response:

• If the other player has one or more cards from that category, they must give all of them to the player who asked:
  "Yes, here you are."

• If the other player doesn’t have any cards from that category, they say:
  "Go fishing!", and the player who asked must take one card from the pond.

Making a pair:
If the player who asked forms a pair (i.e., has two cards from the same category) either by receiving a card or fishing from the pond, they must place the pair face up in front of them.

Continue the turn:
If the player receives one or more cards from the category they asked for, they may continue asking any player.
If they didn’t get the card they asked for and had to “fish” from the pond, the turn passes to the next player.

End of the game:
The game continues until all cards have been paired or the pond is empty.
The player with the most pairs at the end is the winner.
